Luciana Ja'vonne

Painter Luciana Ja'vonne has been immersed in the arts for most of her life. Ja'vonne entered the "art scene at a very early age, mainly in the fields of acting and dance." After receiving a BA in Theater from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, and an MFA in Acting from The New School in New York, NY, Ja'vonne decided to change course and do what comes naturally to her, painting.

After "completing my studies I discovered that I am most passionate about paint and bringing things to life on the canvas." Ja'vonne's artwork "captures a transitory moment and energy. These moments and energies, I believe, make a connection with the different experiences that make up who we are a collective, and who we are as individuals."

Ja'vonne's work was featured in our Los Angeles Gallery Show. We choose Ja'vonne's work to be a part of our gallery show for countless reasons. We love the bold colors and shapes of Ja'vonne's abstract paintings. Each mass tone and shape has a role in her work. Each element compliments each other, yet also stands out individually. They add to the layering of each painting and the story it tells. Her brushwork is her personal signature that adds deepth and emotion to each piece.

We are thrilled to share Ja'vonne's artwork and look forward to having her in our next gallery show. To learn more about Ja'vonne and her artwork, you can check out her website, Twitter and Vimeo.
